MEET CHRIS MINOR

Chris Minor is a highly experienced law enforcement and firefighting professional with over 25 years of proven expertise in Harrison County.

In his own words:

I am a lifelong resident of Harrison County.  I grew up in the Harrison County school system and am a graduate of Washington Irving High School.  I started my career of wanting to help people at the early age of 16, as a junior firefighter at the Stonewood Volunteer Fire Department.

I served the community of Stonewood and the residents of Harrison County proudly for 24 years.  The last ten years of my career were spent serving as Fire Chief. 

​

At the age of 21, I started my career in law enforcement in Harrison County and graduated from the West Virginia State Police Academy 98th Basic Class in 1997.  I worked 18 years as a police officer for the City of Stonewood, the City of Salem, the City of Anmoore, and the City of Shinnston—all respected municipalities of Harrison County.  I was the Police Chief and the Fire Chief of the City of Stonewood at the same time. 

I am a single parent currently living in Quiet Dell in Harrison County and have two children, Whitney O’Dwyer and Wyatt Minor.  My daughter Whitney is happily married and lives with her husband Aidan in British Columbia, Canada, and my son Wyatt is a Division 1 athlete currently playing football at Youngstown State University, where he is studying Criminal Justice to become a Law Enforcement Officer.

I am currently employed by BHEGT&S as a compliance investigator in gas transmission.  I am very active in the Congregational Missionary Church, where I have attended for my entire life and served for years as youth leader and security officer.
